Board Member

 

María Guerrero Sanz (Madrid, 1983) works at the intersection of culture and social impact. In 2013, she founded the Acción por la Música Foundation in Spain, inspired by the social and pedagogical model of “El Sistema”, by José Antonio Abreu. She is currently the President of the organization, which works with children and young people to promote a more just and equitable society.
María co-founded the Social Music Network in Spain and the National Inclusion Orchestra.
She teaches in various postgraduate programs, such as the Master’s Program in Social Impact Management and Measurement at Comillas University, where she also co-founded the Social Impact Alumni Club.
In 2024, she was listed among the 25 Most Influential Spaniards in the Third Sector (Merca2). In 2018, she was named one of the Top 100 Women Leaders in Spain.
She holds a Postgraduate degree in Management and Technology (ICAI-ICADE, 2025), a Postgraduate degree in Public Leadership and Entrepreneurship (University of Deusto, 2020), and a Postgraduate degree in Leadership and Social Innovation (ESADE, 2017). She earned a double degree in Law and Business Administration and Management from ICADE (2007).
She also took part in the Global Civil Society Seminar at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government (Rafael del Pino Foundation scholarship, 2021) and in the Summer Immersive Programme at the Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2024).
She belongs to the first cohort of Acumen Fellows in Spain.

She is also a member of several boards and advisory bodies, such as the Unit for the Analysis of AI and Music in the Digital Age of the Spanish Association of Artists, Performers, and Musicians (AIE).
Thanks to her work at Acción por la Música, and on its behalf, she has received numerous awards, including the “La Caixa” Social Innovation Award (2024), the Emilio Castelar Award (2020), and recognition from the Ministry of Culture of the Dominican Republic (2019).

She has three children and passionately dedicates her life to social transformation.
