The Vladimir Đorđević music school in Jagodina joined the Music Art Project’s El Sistema Serbia network in October 2014. The school’s teachers soon began to work with the El Sistema Serbia schools in Ćuprija and Paracin, thus forming Music Art Project’s first regional orchestra, which has already put on over 30 successful performances at home and abroad.
The programme in Jagodina also connects children from urban and rural areas, who develop their personal and social capacities and strengthen the sense of community in their neighbourhoods, through the music they share and the innovative teaching methods they enjoy.
The youngest participants in Jagodina form the Papyrni orkestar, the Paper Orchestra, in which they become familiar with their future instruments in an interactive and creative way by making paper instruments.
