The 2nd edition of the Come and Play with Us concert series took place in Prague on the 21st May 2017.

Come and Play with Us is an annual event and service to the public, provided by the El Sistema-inspired Harmonie Foundation. As part of the event, the Harmonie Foundation offers members of the public the opportunity to bring their musical instruments and to enjoy making music as a part of its children’s string orchestra.

One month prior to the event the scores to be played are published on the Harmonie Foundation’s website, where people can then register to take part: http://www.nfharmonie.cz.

Then, on the day of the concert, there is a general rehearsal several hours before the final performance, at which all of the players have the opportunity to practise together.

In 2017, Come and Play with Us featured the children’s string orchestra and guests playing Mozart’s Alla Turca with the Harmonie Foundation’s patron piano virtuoso, Ivo Kahánek, and Antonín Dvořák’s Humoresque with the Czech Philharmonic’s concert maestro, Josef Špaček.

Watch the Harmonie Foundation's children’s string orchestra  and guests perform on Prague's Střelecký Island!

The Harmonie Foundation is happy to see that there is growing interest in the event and wishes to invite everyone who is interested in taking part next year to follow them on Facebook, where more information on the 3rd edition of Come and Play with Us will be announced in the build-up to the event in April/May 2018: https://www.facebook.com/NadacniFondHarmonie
