"Plastica InFesta" is the final day of the three-year project 'The Environmental Building Site' by LiberaMusica, funded by the Wanda di Ferdinando Foundation. The project consists of making plastic violins through the recycling of plastic bottle lids (and all Type 2 HDPE plastic). Secondary school children, thanks to the experts, learn about plastic recycling, polymers, and the global problems related to the small percentage of plastic that is recycled worldwide.

Each child designs, graphically and artistically, their own violin. Using two machines, the plastic is shredded, then the child uses the powder to make his or her own violin in the moulds, choosing shapes and colours. The mould is placed in a press oven and after half an hour the violin comes out and is ready! These small violins are then given to the youngest children, from kindergarten, complete with bridge and bow. In this way, the youngest children can begin their musical journey.

The project 'StraTivari - The Plastic Violin' promoted by LiberaMusica was conceived by the association Pequenas Huellas of Turin with the support of the City of Turin. In Pesaro it sees the collaboration of the Municipality of Pesaro, Rossini Opera Festival, Marche Multiservizi, and the University of Urbino.
