November 13th 2017 - 150 children go to Zenica

A full house greeted the children of Superar Srebrenica / House of Good Tones at the Bosnian National Theatre in Zenica, as they performed at the Let Love Unite concert as part of their tour of Bosnian and Herzegovinian cities.

The children of Zenica Primary School and Dječija nota were present with vocal soloists, a string orchestra and choir, and they and the guitarists and drummers from the House of Good Tones were met with enthusiastic applause from the audience.

The concert was filled with songs from throughout the world and the children from Zenica and Srebrenica made new friends, proposing a reunion at a new concert.

This concert was co-organised by the City of Zenica.

May 25th 2017 – The children from Srebrenica perform in Mostar

The House of Good Tones performed at the Afternoon of Music concert for a belated celebration of Europe Day in Mostar.

The Srebrenica youngsters played together with the Mostar Rock School and they both put on a fantastic concert.

A brief talk was also held on the role of music in building bridges between people and both the artistic director of the House of Good Tones, Ismar Porić, and the director of the Mostar Rock School, Orhan Maslo, spoke of the importance of such projects in uniting children around culture and art instead of dividing them into religions and nations.

December 7th 2016 – The first performance in Tuzla

The Tuzla audience had the opportunity to enjoy a concert by the city’s Slavuj children's choir and Superar Srebrenica / House of Good Tones. This concert was entitled Ruka prijateljstva (The Hand of Friendship) and aimed to send out a joint message of peace and love.

For Superar Srebrenica, this was the first time that they had performed in Tuzla and they brought a choir, a band, guitarists and drummers, to whom the Tuzla audience responded with enthusiasm.

July 25th 2016 - Superar Srebrenica / The House of Good Tones at the 21st Baščaršija Nights in Sarajevo

Superar Srebrenica’s children's choir held an independent concert within the framework of the 21st edition of Sarajevo’s Baščaršijske Nights.

Celebrating five years which have seen them grow to cater to some 400 children from the municipalities of Srebrenica and Bratunac, the children’s choir put on a performance at the Bosnian Cultural Centre, which saw them accompanied by the guitar and drummer sections and some solo singers.

With so many children playing, the Sarajevo audience had the opportunity to listen to a wider range of compositions in several languages. These including traditional songs from Bosnia and Herzegovina, pieces by some of the world’s most famous composers, such as Beethoven and Mozart, and unforgettable pop-rock classics by the likes of John Lennon and Stevie Wonder.

May 20th 2016 - The five-year anniversary concert in Srebrenica

On the occasion of the fifth year of the Superar Srebrenica initiative in Bosnia Herzegovina, a large concert was held at Srebrenica’s Cultural Centre.

Now working with about 400 children in Skelani, Srebrenica, Potocari and Bratunac, Superar Srebrenica used the occasion to present the full spectrum of its work, with a choir, a section of guitarists, drummers, clarinettists and dancers all present.

This concert saw the performance of compositions in several languages, with pieces ranging from classical music to sevdalinki.

April 7th 2016 - Superar Srebrenica’s first independent concert in Sarajevo

In April 2016, Superar Srebrenica held its first solo concert at the Youth Theatre in Sarajevo. This concert celebrated both five years of Superar Srebrenica and the Bosnian and Herzegovinian–Austrian Year of Culture 2016.

The concert was opened by the Austrian Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Martin Pammer, who emphasised the importance of the Superar Srebrenica project in sending out a message of peace from Srebrenica.

November 18th 2015 - Opening a short film festival

The children's one-minute film festival Do you have a Minute? is an annual film festival organised by UNICEF in cooperation with the INFOHOUSE Association. This cooperation and development project of the Birač Region is financed by the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and implemented by UNICEF, UNDP and UNHCR.

The Superar Srebrenica choir performed two songs to open the festival.

November 12th 2015 - Opening and closing the first Investment and Development Conference in Srebrenica

The Superar Srebrenica children’s choir opened the first Investment and Development Conference in Srebrenica by performing its song Love People.

This important meeting brought together high-ranking officials from the countries of the region as well as representatives of international organisations and private companies. The conference lasted for two days and culminated in another performance by the Superar Srebrenica choir, which had the honour of acting as musical ambassadors for Srebrenica and Bosnia and Herzegovina, closing the conference with messages of love, peace and tolerance.

August 26th 2015 - Appearance in Vienna on the eve of the Western Balkans Summit

In August 2015, Children from Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Serbia performed at the Western Balkans Summit in Vienna.

At this summit, chaired by Sebastian Kurz (the current chancellor and former foreign secretary of Austria), high-ranking officials from across Europe met to discuss the progression of the accession process amongst countries in the Western Balkans.

This event also took on special meaning, not only because of the grand circumstances in which it occurred, but also because it was preceded by attendance of the Superar Summer Camp, which was held from August 23rd to 27th for the children of Music Art Project (El Sistema Serbia), Sustav Orkestara Djece i Omladine (El Sistema Croatia), Superar Srebrenica and Superar Austria.

June 6th 2015 – Performing for Pope Francis in Sarajevo

The Superar Srebrenica children’s choir performed for Pope Francis during his visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The main event was held at the archdiocesan Youth Pastoral Centre John Paul II in Sarajevo, where children from Srebrenica sang a hymn of peace and love.

Ismar Porić, the artistic director of Superar Srebrenica, spoke of the magnitude of the occasion, with children of Serb and Bosniak backgrounds singing to the head of the Roman Catholic Church. He was overwhelmed by how well it went and thanked the children as well as his team.

For the children, it was a dream that has stayed with them and they left Sarajevo with positive impressions and full of emotion. Sisters Ljubić and Milica Deuric stated that it was the most beautiful thing that had happened so far in the children's choir and the other children were also moved by the occasion:
