In association with the Riahi brothers' film, Kinders, and the EU Delegation to Turkey’s 7th Human Rights Film Days festival, Superar Austria’s Viennese Chamber Orchestra will fly out to Istanbul to join fellow Sistema Europe member, Music for Peace, for a joint concert this December.

The EU Human Rights Film Days aim to bring film lovers and engaged citizens together in a space created to raise awareness and to promote discussion and reflection. Taking place in four screening cities – Istanbul (1st-14th December), Ankara (4th-14th December), Kars (1st-4th December) and Giresun (9th-12th December) – this year, the 2017 edition of the festival will look to promote critical reflection on universal values and their meaning and to send out the message that together we are stronger.

The common strength we gain through working together is a central theme to the work of Sistema Europe centres across the continent and this will also be the case in Turkey this December, where the children of Superar Wien will embody the concept of common cause, both in absentia on cinema screens throughout the country and in person in Istanbul.

As the stars of Arash and Arman Riahi’s documentary film, Kinders – which looks at how the children’s engagement with Superar helps them to develop despite the difficult circumstances some of them live in -  the children of Superar Wien’s Chamber Orchestra have already won the hearts of Austrian audiences. And, now, they will fly out to Turkey to celebrate the film's cinematic tour of Kars, Ankara and Giresun by coming together with the orchestra of fellow Sistema Europe member, Music for Peace, for a screening and post-screening orchestral concert in the Austrian Culture Forum Istanbul on the 10th December.

Superar Wien and Music for Peace thank the Delegation of the European Union to Turkey and the Austrian Culture Forum Istanbul for their support in making this joint performance possible.
