Musaik - Grenzenlos musizieren e.V. was founded in Dresden, Germany, in September 2017 on the initiative of music educators Luise Börner and Deborah Oehler.

The social music project offers free instrumental lessons for children from socially disadvantaged backgrounds in the district of Dresden-Prohlis. The lessons take place exclusively in the group and thereby promote values and skills such as tolerance, responsibility and communication as well as creative processes, self-confidence, patience and perseverance. Every interested child can participate, regardless of (musical) education, social and economic background and country of origin. About 60% of the participating children and young people have a migration background (as of 2023).

The intensive musical work happens three times a week after school and creates a sense of belonging and community. Through regular public performances and workshops, this feeling is also carried into the social space - to the parents and residents of the district. Musaik thus creates equal opportunities, strengthens togetherness and changes society for the better.
