From 22–27 January 2026, Sistema Europe will be in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, at the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying) for “EMPOWER the FUTURE — International Forum & Workshops on Creative Engagement.” The week brings together international and local practitioners to explore how the arts can foster meaningful participation, strengthen community connections, and support social impact through creative practice.

Sistema Europe’s participation reflects our commitment to international exchange and peer learning across contexts and art forms.
Events like Empower the Future create space to share approaches from El Sistema-inspired social-action music education, learn from multidisciplinary community-engagement practices, build relationships that can support future collaboration and knowledge-sharing across our membership.

Sistema Europe’s contribution during the week
"Music as an example of collective cultural cooperation: the key to improving society"

Across the programme, Sistema Europe will contribute perspectives on the role of collective music-making and co-creation in supporting young people and communities.
A key moment is the full-day workshop on 25 January 2026 (10:00–16:30), hosted and led by Marshall Marcus, President of Sistema Europe.
The session focuses on the power of music co-creation and how participatory artistic processes can contribute to wider social change.
Sistema Europe’s presence also connects with the International Forum (26–27 January 2026), which convenes speakers and practitioners around current questions and strategies in creative engagement and community participation.
