SEYO summer camp, 2013

In August 2013, SEYO held it's first ever summer camp in Austria.

As the camp began, 147 childen and 33 teachers, representing El Sistema-inspired projects from all over Europe, came together in Vienna. During their short time there, the children worked together to form a European orchestra, putting on a concert in Grafenegg, Lower Austria and, ultimately, successfully preparing for an encounter with the Orquesta Infantil de Venezuela as part of the Salzburger Festspiele.

The Sistema-inspired programmes which participated in the summer camp were: the Aarhus Musikskole, Barış Için Müzık Istanbul, the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO), Orquestra Geração Lissabon, Sistema Armenia, Sistema Italy, Superar Vienna and Superar Suisse.

Bruno Campo and Etienne Abelin helped co-conduct the orchestra, while Sistema Europe's chairman, Marshall Marcus, was on hand for the organisation of the summer camp.
