Board Member
Tobias Oetiker holds a Bachelor's degree in International Affairs and a Master's degree in Economics from the University of St. Gallen (HSG). His studies encompassed a variety of subjects, including microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, business development, leadership, and economic policy.
Tobias Oetiker currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer and Head of Strategy at TONI Digital, a Zurich-based insurtech startup with a strong focus on innovative solutions and technology. Under his stewardship, the company has navigated multiple funding rounds, as well as developed and implemented strategic plans. This has contributed to its growth to over 50 employees.
Tobias Oetiker initially came into contact with Superar Suisse, an El Sistema initiative in Switzerland, during his tenure as a Project Manager at Stiftung Mercator Schweiz in 2010. In 2021, he returned to Superar Suisse, this time serving on the Board of Directors and assuming the role of interim Managing Director. His current responsibilities encompass directing a strategic reorientation, revising the fundraising strategy, and enhancing stakeholder management. Tobias Oetiker is deeply passionate about the transformative power of music for social and personal change. His belief in the potential of international collaboration across all El Sistema programs is a driving force behind his commitment to Superar Suisse, as he works to leverage this potential to create meaningful impact in the communities served by the initiative.
In addition to his primary responsibilities, Tobias dedicates his time to mentor young individuals at Incluso Caritas, aiding in their pursuit of apprenticeships. As an active member of ACTARES, he promotes sustainable economic practices. Outside of his professional commitments, Tobias enjoys sports and travel, pursues cooking, and appreciates playing Jassen, a traditional Swiss card game.
